North Shore – Depression

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational medication in people with depression.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • are 18-74 years of age
  • have been diagnosed with depression
    • your first depressive episode must have occurred prior to age 60
  • have had at least 1 prior depressive episode and are currently in a depressive episode that has been going on for at least 2 weeks
  • have taken antidepressant medication(s) for a prior or current depressive episode

If you are interested, the study doctor/staff will discuss additional requirements with you, including stopping any current antidepressant(s) you may be taking.

You could receive the investigational medication or placebo (contains no active medication) for 6 weeks. After completing 6 weeks of investigational medication or placebo, you may have the option to receive the investigational medication (no placebo) for an additional 6 months.

Qualified patients may receive study-required medical care and medication at no cost. The study will not pay for other medical care or current medication(s) needed to support your daily health care routine.
